Hip Pain: It’s Not Always the Hip

Pain Can Be Misleading

Hip pain doesn’t always come from the hip joint. Referred pain from the lower back, pelvis, or tight surrounding muscles is common and can be easily overlooked.

Common Causes of Hip Pain

  • Weak glutes or tight hip flexors

  • Altered gait or uneven load during walking/exercise

  • Lumbar disc issues or sacroiliac joint dysfunction
